My paintings harness Western and Eastern sensibilities, especially the notion of Bokeh or blurring. I tap contemporary art making mediums and approaches like quick, extempore brushwork, and informal paint application to arrive at an image that is both abstract and replete with the literal reference of gesture.

Hancock received an MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2008. Since then, he has exhibited artwork in high profile venues both nationally and internationally. He has published commentary and criticism on Art through a number of online and physical platforms. Hancock lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
